Maroochydore

Sea Breeze caravan park in Maroochydore. Right at the beautiful beach.
We arrived here a little over a week ago, but had a few troubles with our caravan. The major one was a damaged airconditioner. It worked, but made the sound of a fighterjet. it appeared to have hail damage that was not repaired when we bought the caravan. The unit needed completely to be replaced, so I had to drive down to Brisbane, and stay a few nights at John and Vals place while the caravan was repaired. Last Thursday I returned to Maroochydore and set up camp again.
Yesterday we helped Pam's mum to move into her new home. and today we did some shopping.
Right now, it's 5:45 in the afternoon, sitting under the awning with a beer, enjoying a quiet afternoon.
It was a very busy week, quite stressfull, but right now.........beautiful !!

Palindrome

We left Mount Perry yesterday and will slowly travel to the Sunshinecoast. We want to be there on Thursday so we have 3 days to bridge the 400 km. Nice and easy ! Mondayevening we stayed at a restarea behind the park in Tiaro, today we moved 80 km south to Gympie and set ourselves up in the restarea just north of the town. We knew this spot and its a great place to camp, so we will stay 2 nights and travel to Maroochydore at the Sunshinecoast on Thursday.
The awning is rolled out, the genny connected, the beer is cold, the weather is the way it should be in Queensland: one day it's beautiful, perfect the next.

I was reading the "Courier Mail" of last weekend and discovered the best palindrome that I have seen until now (palindrome: a word, phrase or sentence that reads the same backward or forward), I just wanted to share this one.

" a man, a plan, a canal: Panama"

Warm ?

It was a hot and steamy day in Mt. Perry. For all of you back there in The Netherlands with temperatures of -18 C (brrrrrr), we reached 60 Deg C higher. To be honest: a little to much. But it cooled down quickly with a big shower in the afternoon

Mount Rawdon

A nice view from the Mount Perry caravan park. The sun sets from behind me, spreading the last warm red light over the hills. In the background....no, no, not Mount Perry, but Mount Rawwdon.

A little problem

Actually the first real problem with the car. A little crack in the windscreen slowly decided to grow and grow into a big crack. Time for the boys of O'brien to step in. Piece of cake. Never had such a clean view before.

Cattle country

Mount Perry is cattle country (dutch: "runder" land). Beef is the main food. Cattle everywhere. Rain is the main subject for a chat because it makes the grass grow, and thats what makes the beef.
Pamela wanted a cutting board for the caravan.
Who better to ask for than Pete Dingle (Big Pete, the woodchopper). And Big Pete DID make a chopping board for Pam.
Guess what timber it is made off ??? Right: "beefwood".
Very rare (dutch: zeldzaam) native Australian hardwood. A beauty !!!
Pete realy made it a special one, and handed it over to us with a big grin: Nobody will have one like this.
We are very happy with it; really special !
